A Pregnancy Countdown and Art Prints

The Birth of Bump to Baby Over 12 months of preparation it’s finally here! Bump to Baby: A creative hand painted pregnancy countdown. A fun, beautiful way to follow baby’s growth. A unique gift. Part art, part journal. It started with a conversation, when my friend was 14 weeks pregnant. She told me her baby was the size of a lemon. I found this fascinating, from that point on I knew I wanted to create something special. So I set to work finding more about this fruit and vegetable comparison phenomenon. Baby lemon, he is now 8 months, these cards […]

Train Your Brain with These 3 Great Apps

We’ve all heard it said before: using our phones too much can numb our brains and dull the senses. Our phones can sometimes seem more like a distraction than a tool to help productivity, but it can actually be the opposite. You just have to be using the right apps. There were 1.3 million apps on Google Play, and 1.2 million apps on the iTunes App Store in July of 2014, and this number continues to increase significantly. App developers are continually pushing to make more innovative games, tying together different elements of gameplay to create new experiences for users. […]

Brunch at Cornersmith and Spontaneous Art

What better way to celebrate a friend’s belated birthday than with fresh, delicious produce? Here we come Cornersmith. I found out about this cafe on one of my usual “best [insert meal or cuisine]” Google hunts. It took about 15 minutes to hustle up a table for 6, which turned out perfect as there was a delay due to a miscommunication between us about the number of the shop, it’s 314 Illawarra Rd, Marrickville, 2204. It took me a while to work out the menu, but as soon as I it didn’t take long for me to make my choice.

Decluttering and Discarding is an Art Form

My initial impression of the book, “the life-changing magic of tidying up”, was already quite positive. Usually when dealing with books I like to take time to hold and feel the pages, since this was an eBook, all I could do was hold my tablet and examine the cover image. I loved the simplicity of the cover and felt that if the eBook followed in a similar fashion I would also love the book. The first thing I noticed was the impressive promise made by this digital delight, namely the words “life-changing magic”. Who doesn’t love magic, especially when it […]

Food, Glorious Food, Hot Sausage and Chopra?

Since the beginning, food has always been around, literally. Food has been a big part of my life. Let me explain that, I am someone who would learn photography just to take glorious photos of food. While I love food, I tend not to turn to food for comfort. Food does have links to my positive emotions; happiness and fun come to mind. Since getting my eBook reader, I have really taken on board reading as I am very digital at heart. So onto the book review: What are you hungry for? When I started reading the book the first […]

My Weekday Pie Zentangle

I have discovered Zentangle. The Zen art of doodling. When I see a blank piece of paper, I am compelled to pick up a pen. The beauty of Zentangle is the white space is only 8.9 x 8.9 cm (79.21cm²) or in my case a generous 10 x 10cm, I homemade some tiles. Admittedly, as an artist, doodling is one of my talents, however I still found the process of the Zentangle satisfying. In it’s essence, it’s not anything new, but it does enable everyone to experience the joy of doodling. Part of my work involves facilitating activities, a favourite activity […]
