Train Your Brain with These 3 Great Apps

We’ve all heard it said before: using our phones too much can numb our brains and dull the senses. Our phones can sometimes seem more like a distraction than a tool to help productivity, but it can actually be the opposite. You just have to be using the right apps. There were 1.3 million apps on Google Play, and 1.2 million apps on the iTunes App Store in July of 2014, and this number continues to increase significantly. App developers are continually pushing to make more innovative games, tying together different elements of gameplay to create new experiences for users. […]

Let’s do something new

This quote appeals to me, and as a budding stand up comedian, I wish I’d said it first. So I did the next best thing, I appropriated it and made it my own. Some credit the quote to “Unknown”, and others to Ziad K. Abdelnour. Either way, I had a chuckle and I found out bad hair days don’t discriminate. Now back to the topic of stand up comedy. People often say that I’m funny. I like being odd. In that sense I can really relate to what Ziad has said. It’s one thing for people to laugh with (or at) you in a […]

Isn’t it ironic? Technology promoting less technology

A fantastic spoken word film about a wide spread technological issue. I could trawl on YouTube for days for the ones that go viral. The time before this one I found “Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos – Episode 1“.  So I felt compelled to post it here. It took me back to another time… a time when I was lying on a hammock on one of the Yasawa Islands in Fiji. The weather was beautiful and I was soaking up relaxation. Then I decided to listen to an audiobook, yes I’m up with technology. It was an audiobook about use of punctuation and grammar. Suprisingly, […]

Corned Turtle Omelette? Nope. Community Treatment Orders.

What is a CTO? The Mental Health Review Tribunal states: A Community Treatment Order  is a legal order made by the Mental Health Review Tribunal or by a Magistrate. It sets out the terms under which a person must accept medication and therapy, counselling, management, rehabilitation and other services while living in the community. It is implemented by a mental health facility that has developed an appropriate treatment plan for the individual person. A Community Treatment Order authorises compulsory care for a person living in the community. If a person breaches a Community Treatment Order, by not complying with the conditions of the Order, […]

People’s Choice

Just thought I’d have a quick note here with some pictures from the launch (http://goo.gl/QmXVPL). Here I am standing next to the People’s Choice dream, and what a dream it is!

Launch and Cupcakes

Like the bright array of cupcakes in this post, the launch was colourful and very enjoyable. It was an amazing night with great support behind the scenes. The D2DL team helped with catering for the event and spent the majority of the day putting together platters, cutting up crudites and creating chicken skewers. I had the wonderful task of baking and icing the cupcakes, which explains why there are so many colours. I believe over 100 people attended the night, including my family. The event was opened by Clover Moore, who was introduced by Graham Long, CEO and Pastor of […]
