Finally, I am back online with a slightly new site design. I’m quite proud of my tinkering skills in getting the site up and it’s pretty close to how I imagined it from Photoshop. Yay me! So, following this update, I will be working on adding content and continuing with the Deck of Dreams project. The garden is still being nurtured, so there are probably broken links here and there… Feel free to take a look around.
I’ve updated the menu with the mouseover images, so when you roll your mouse over the dirt holes you should get another image showing. Such is the exciting life of the novice web designer. I’ve also fixed the contact forms so now you can submit your dreams/goals and/or contact me. And if that’s not enough, you can also subscribe to receive updates when I revamp or add awesome content to the site or find out the latest on the Deck of Dreams.
Tomorrow I’ll be attending a 3 day course (Remind) over the period of the next 3 Fridays at the Schizophrenia Fellowship. As it says on the website “There’s nothing more powerful than hearing about mental illness experiences from those who have lived it” As someone who has been in hospital a few times (interesting times – which I will be speaking about in my book), I believe I am qualified to speak about my experiences. I do hope in the future that I will have plenty of opportunities to speak publicly about my experience. I choose to see things in a positive […]
Inspired by my friend who is on a weight loss challenge, I walked the Bay Run last night, for this reason I usually call it the Bay Walk. It’s a good 7km walk around Canada Bay, Sydney. During the walk we got talking about food (nothing unusual there). Another Breakfast Regime This is what she told me, 50g of muesli with 100ml of milk. When looking at the back of the packet with all the numbers, ensure that the sugar content is no more than a 1/3 of the total carbohydrate content – finally some of what I learnt in high […]
“Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress” Now this is something I always need to be mindful of. How do you keep moving forward and not fall into the trap of keeping busy and achieving little. Funny when I’m waiting for something to heat in the microwave , I always manage to get so much done in those 2 minutes. Yet when I have hours to be productive, they fly by without a trace. Perhaps the solution is to be constantly heating things in the microwave… or setting 2 minute […]
So it’s been nearly a year since it’s inception in early 2011. A few stops and starts and it slowly comes to a stand still at the end of 2011 with the dressing of a new splash page. KISS. Keep it simple, stupid. The splash page just has three options, 1) Deck of Dreams, 2) Bipolar Blessing and 3) Contact. I have great plans for Deck of Dreams in 2012 and will be chipping away at the project during the Christmas break. For all you out there who may someday come across these archived pixels of text, Merry Christmas and […]
