Let’s do something new

This quote appeals to me, and as a budding stand up comedian, I wish I’d said it first. So I did the next best thing, I appropriated it and made it my own. Some credit the quote to “Unknown”, and others to Ziad K. Abdelnour. Either way, I had a chuckle and I found out bad hair days don’t discriminate. Now back to the topic of stand up comedy. People often say that I’m funny. I like being odd. In that sense I can really relate to what Ziad has said. It’s one thing for people to laugh with (or at) you in a […]

Strawberry Watermelon Cake

Thermomix Strawberry Watermelon Cake

I love this cake so much it was my wedding cake. When I found the recipe on Google it was destined to be created in my kitchen. The original recipe is by Black Star Pastry and I found it on Gourmet Traveller. Two of us were in the kitchen for this, and it took a while to complete. I am keen to make it again to refine the Thermomix component of the recipe so it’s easier and more efficient. In the end, it was a very satisfying creation, and so delicious. The recipe below has been modified slightly (I found I didn’t need […]

Becoming a Thermomix Consultant

Thinking about the combination of things that I love, technology and food come to mind. The Thermomix is a machine that fits those things perfectly. If you haven’t heard about Thermomix before, it’s an amazing kitchen machine that amalgamates the majority of your cooking needs into one handy place. I first came cross Thermie a few years ago when I was invited to a demo. I had no idea what it was and if I’m to be honest just went along for the free meal. All I remember is leaving wishing that I could have one! So when I had the […]

29 Ways to Stay Creative

Data displayed visually has the ability to engage and educate. I love pictures, and I love them more when you can learn from them. Infographics are now migrating to animation, and combined with words and pleasant thought conducive music they come alive. Even with the oodles of note taking apps available, I still prefer no. 2 and take a notebook whenever possible, nothing beats putting pen to paper when you have an idea.

Isn’t it ironic? Technology promoting less technology

Isn’t it ironic? Technology promoting less technology

A fantastic spoken word film about a wide spread technological issue. I could trawl on YouTube for days for the ones that go viral. The time before this one I found “Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos – Episode 1“.  So I felt compelled to post it here. It took me back to another time… a time when I was lying on a hammock on one of the Yasawa Islands in Fiji. The weather was beautiful and I was soaking up relaxation. Then I decided to listen to an audiobook, yes I’m up with technology. It was an audiobook about use of punctuation and grammar. Suprisingly, […]

Chorizo

Chicken and Chorizo. Let’s Make Stew…

It may not be pretty to look at, but it certainly is delicious. A great warm recipe for the colder weather. This dish comes out quite soupy so if you’re a fan of sauce, it’s perfect, if not, you can always scoop out the chunky ingredients with a straining ladle and adjust the sauce levels to your preference. If you like your meals hot, and not just the temperature, feel free to add some fresh chilies when you put in the capsicum. One thing to help make preparation easier, I listed the ingredients in the order of use. The original recipe from […]
